The objective of The Howard A. Kelly Society is to promote the cause and extend the knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynecology through the exchange of professional information relating to this specialty in medicine. This society was established to honor Dr. Howard A. Kelly by the physicians and alumni of the department he founded, in appreciation for his innovations in the practice and teaching of the specialty. The society strives to perpetuate his ideals and philosophy in the care of women under the guidance of his successors in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Johns Hopkins Hospital and University.
