Dear Colleagues:

I want you to know that Roger Johns has submitted his resignation as director of the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine in order to pursue his research more intensively. He will remain as a full professor on our faculty as he does so.

At this time of transition, John Ulatowski will serve as interim director, and Mort Goldberg will chair the Search Committee for a new director of the department.

Roger, Mort and John all have my thanks for their efforts on behalf of Johns Hopkins Medicine. Please extend all possible support to John as he undertakes his new responsibilities.
