Best of the Best 2005

March 16 , 2006

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, we have been working to make Johns Hopkins Health System/The Johns Hopkins Hospital a great place to work. We periodically ask for your input on ways to improve. We have recently begun to look at the diversity of our staff – specifically looking to see if our gender, race, ethnic backgrounds and other characteristics that make us unique reflect the characteristics of the customers we serve.

So we now ask you to take 10 – 15 minutes to complete a questionnaire so we can learn how well our employees think we are doing to promote diversity. You can complete the Diversity Climate Survey by visiting http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=884381831579. The survey is anonymous and your individual survey responses will not be seen by anyone from Hopkins.

The survey results will let us know how employees see diversity as it exists now, including challenges and opportunities. A similar survey is being given to all the Johns Hopkins University employees as well. The Johns Hopkins Medicine leadership is committed to reviewing the results and taking action.

The Johns Hopkins Institutions Diversity & Inclusion Statement states, "Johns Hopkins is a community committed to sharing values of diversity and inclusion in order to achieve and sustain excellence.” Please help us recognize that vision by providing your valuable feedback.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,
Ronald R. Peterson
President
Johns Hopkins Health System
