Best of the Best 2005

April 5, 2006

Dear Colleagues:

The Office of Continuing Medical Education is proud to announce that it has been awarded the status of Accreditation with Commendation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The accreditation process is an arduous one that involves a thorough review of each and every activity, a formal self-study, and a face-to-face review. The reviewers could not have been more laudatory about the outstanding performance of the CME office and its partnership with the clinical departments in providing high quality continuing medical education. In awarding us with the status of Accreditation with Commendation we received the highest level of accreditation status that included four exemplary performance scores, and we were granted the longest period of accreditation permitted -- six years.

This is a significant achievement and the CME office is extremely proud. We want to thank every one with whom we have worked as this accreditation status can only be achieved when everyone dedicates themselves to providing independent, objective, evidence-based continuing medical education that meets or exceeds regulatory compliance.

The bar is set quite high for the future and we are confident that through ongoing collaboration with the clinical departments that the Office of CME will continue in its leadership in Lifelong Learning.

Sincerely,
Todd Dorman, M.D.
Associate Dean and Director of Continuing Medical Education
