Best of the Best 2005

November 29 , 2006

Dear Johns Hopkins Colleague:

At the beginning of October, I wrote to ask for your help in supporting the United Way of Central Maryland and the many important health and human services programs it supports. As our 2006 United Way campaign draws to a close, I urge you to pledge today if you have not already done so. This year, a number of pledge packets were mailed directly to faculty and staff home addresses. Because of the different mailing strategy, and to continue our good works, we are extending the end of the campaign until Friday, December 8. As of today, we have only raised enough money to help 20,640 people; our combined goal for all Johns Hopkins Institutions is to help 32,785 people by raising $2,670,000. Please be aware that we may not make our goal without your help. I hope you will join me in supporting this very important effort.

Each year, individuals from across Johns Hopkins Institutions join together to support vital health and human service programs in our region. The tremendous power of many people giving in a coordinated campaign cannot be underestimated. A contribution of just a few dollars per week can make an enormous difference in people’s lives.

Pledging is now easier than ever, thanks to our secure online pledge system that will take only minutes of your time. If you have not yet filled out your pledge form, I urge you to submit your pledge online by visiting the Johns Hopkins United Way home page at http://www.jhu.edu/unitedway at your earliest convenience. Your contribution counts, and we are counting on your help.

Thank you for helping to make this effort successful.

Sincerely,
William R. Brody
