Health Care and Surgery Centers

Dear Colleagues:

Johns Hopkins Medicine is about to launch a communications campaign to promote our ambulatory centers at Green Spring Station, White Marsh, Odenton and Cedar Lane. These centers will soon have a new name to help people better understand the types of services we offer. Starting this month, we will begin using the name “Health Care and Surgery Centers” to describe these facilities. The campaign is intended to introduce this to the public.

Research was conducted last fall with consumers in communities surrounding each center to help us assess awareness and perception. The majority of people interviewed were aware that Johns Hopkins had a facility in the community, but not everyone knew its purpose. Many recognized it as a medical building while some thought it might be an administrative building or research facility. This new name is intended to improve understanding of the services offered at our suburban locations.

Our communications campaign will begin next week. It will include information in selected issues of the Johns Hopkins Health newsletter (hopkinsmedicine.org/health) mailed to households in the vicinity of each center. Radio advertising will also run on several local stations. For questions about the campaign, please contact Keith Langrehr, director of institutional marketing, at 410-502-2654.

Thank you for your continued support of our Health Care and Surgery Centers as an increasingly important part of the Johns Hopkins Medicine clinical network.

Sincerely,

Steven J. Thompson
Senior Vice President
Johns Hopkins Medicine
