Appreciation for your involvement in the Joint Commission survey

Dear Colleagues,

We’d like to take a minute to commend the many individuals who spent the last week assisting the Joint Commission in its assessment of The Johns Hopkins Hospital. This survey team was a seasoned group that was extremely thorough. As they travelled through our complex organization, they made several comments about you, the faculty and staff. The surveyors noted that our employees showed a level of excellence and commitment that was unprecedented in their experience. They went on to say that you were especially open and engaged in the survey process, which was appreciated.

They also commended the hospital for its many best practices in care delivery. They plan to include these practices in a database that the accrediting agency will use to help other organizations raise their level of care.

There are still many opportunities for us to improve, and you will be hearing about those in the coming months. Overall it was a rewarding process on both sides. Again, we thank you for your expertise and contributions.

Sincerely,

Ronald R. Peterson
