New career opportunities with Epic initiative

Dear Colleagues,

We recently wrote to you with plans for integrating across Johns Hopkins Medicine our new, electronic patient medical record system, Epic. We're excited to report that the response to our call for team members to help roll out the initiative's first phase, Ambulatory First, was overwhelmingly positive and the recruitment process is going well.

Although we do not yet have board approval, to meet Epic's training schedule we are beginning to plan for the next phase in the project at Howard County General Hospital and Sibley Memorial Hospital, members of our Community Division. We'll need about 85 enthusiastic professionals with various levels of inpatient clinical services, registration and hospital billing, as well as technical, project management and business operations expertise to implement this next phase.

We invite interested employees from all JHM entities, especially those from Howard County General and Sibley, to apply as soon as possible for full consideration. It's an extraordinary opportunity to help us further transform health care at Hopkins Medicine by improving patient safety and operations efficiency with this technology.

The first round of interviews begins Sept. 12, and we expect to extend offers as soon as possible after board approval. Benefits include an exclusive training process and certification that may ultimately result in more career and leadership opportunities for you.

For more information about the Epic Community Division and details on the job opportunities, visit hopkinsmedicine.org/employment/Epic.

We hope you will consider joining this important team.

Sincerely,

William A. Baumgartner, M.D.
