George Economas Named Senior Director for Corporate Security

Dear Colleagues,

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of George Economas as senior director for corporate security, parking and transportation for Johns Hopkins Medicine. In this capacity, George will be in charge of Corporate Security until a replacement is found for John Bergbower, vice president for corporate security, parking and transportation. As we in the Hopkins family know, John died suddenly and tragically last month.

George has worked in the security field for 31 years and has served The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Medicine in Corporate Security for more than 17 years. His many positions have included security manager, assistant director of security at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, director of parking and transportation services, and most recently director of internal security.

We congratulate George and trust that you will give him your full support as he undertakes this critical responsibility for Johns Hopkins Medicine.
