COO Named for the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians Operations Unit

Dear Faculty,

We are pleased and proud to formally announce Linda Gilligan's role as the chief operations officer for the office of Johns Hopkins Physicians (OJHP). In this role, Linda will oversee key operational and ambulatory-based functions. This role solidifies the evolution of the OJHP as we leverage the great strengths of Johns Hopkins Community Physicians (JHCP), the Clinical Practice Association (CPA) and the school of medicine, in managing the ambulatory enterprise across Johns Hopkins. She will report to John Ogunkeye, vice president of OJHP. She will continue in her role as vice president and chief operating officer for JHCP, reporting to Steve Kravet, president of JHCP.

Linda started her career with Johns Hopkins in 1972. She served until 1979 as a budget analyst for The Johns Hopkins Hospital (JHH) and later as the financial manager for various clinical and administrative departments. After a hiatus from Johns Hopkins, serving in roles for the University of Maryland Medical System and the private and political sectors, Linda rejoined Johns Hopkins in 1999.  Since returning, Linda has served as senior director of finance for Johns Hopkins Healthcare LLC and Johns Hopkins Medical Services Corporation and, since 2003, has been the vice president and chief operating officer of JHCP.

Linda brings years of proven leadership in physician practice management and to her role with the office of JHCP. At JHCP, she demonstrated extraordinary skills and leadership by overseeing improved financial and operational performance, which helped shepherd that organization to record heights. Her business acumen coupled with her exemplary work ethic makes her an invaluable asset to JHM.
