Sharon Kemp Named Executive Director of JHHS Central Human Resources

I am delighted to announce that Sharon Kemp has been named executive director of Johns Hopkins Health System Human Resources. In this newly created position, Sharon will oversee pension, benefits, compensation, career services, and strategic workforce planning and development for the Johns Hopkins Health System. She will also develop policy and direct and coordinate human resources initiatives, such as SuccessFactors' myPerformance.

A seasoned professional, Sharon joined the Johns Hopkins Health System in 2002 as director of compensation. She provided strategic direction and compensation expertise, as well as guidance to management on day-to-day matters concerning policies and employee issues regarding talent management. In 2013, she was promoted to senior director of compensation. In that role, she supported the institution's six hospitals, community physician practices, home care group and the executive compensation program. Prior to her tenure with Johns Hopkins, Sharon worked for 23 years at Bank of America in various positions, including as vice president of human resources.

Sharon holds a masters' degree in business in administration from Loyola University Maryland and is a certified compensation professional and senior professional in human resources. In her free time, she serves as president of the Maryland Healthcare Human Resources Association and as vice chair of the Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union Board.
As Johns Hopkins Medicine continues to centralize certain human resources functions across the health system, such as recruitment, compensation, and benefits and wellness, Sharon's expertise in these areas will prove invaluable. Add to that her collaborative spirit and resourcefulness, and she will undoubtedly help us advance our strategic goal to attract, engage, develop and retain the world's best people.

Please join me in congratulating Sharon on her new role.

Bonnie Windsor
Senior Vice President of Human Resources
