Dinesh Ganesan Named Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Johns Hopkins Medicine International

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to announce that Dinesh Ganesan, a seasoned finance executive, has been selected as vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) for Johns Hopkins Medicine International after an extensive search. He will join us here in Baltimore on June 13.

As Johns Hopkins Medicine International's top financial officer, the CFO ensures that the organization remains in a strong financial position so we can continue to provide the best possible experience for our out-of-state and international patients and build sustainable platforms for health care delivery overseas. The CFO provides leadership in financial planning, budgets and projections; managing assets and operating cash flows; and the financial operations of new and existing affiliates, projects and business development opportunities.

Dinesh has a sound understanding of the international health care market. His current position as CFO for U.S. Employer Segments & Provider Network at Cigna, a global health services company based in Bloomfield, Conn., oversees commercial business lines that help employers of all sizes provide health insurance to 12 million total customers. Prior to this, Dinesh led the financial planning and analysis team for all of Cigna's international businesses, operating or establishing joint ventures in 14 countries throughout Asia and Europe. He has also previously held global business development roles at GE Healthcare and Cigna.

Dinesh holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in economics from the University of Madras in India. He earned his M.B.A. in finance and competitive strategy from the University of Rochester, where he completed his internship at Strong Memorial Hospital. He is a chartered accountant in India, the equivalent to a CPA in the United States, as well as a certified management accountant.

Jim Clauter, director of financial reporting for The Johns Hopkins Hospital, has served as interim CFO, a job he has performed skillfully since he assumed the position in January.

Over the past few months, Jim has helped complete a major shareholder agreement with our partner Saudi Aramco and helped to structure the financial functions at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare. He has also worked with Johns Hopkins Medicine International Patient Services leaders to address health care access issues, to operationalize the financial structure for the international clinic at Green Spring Station and to support patient financial services through the Epic transition.

I am very grateful to Jim for his outstanding fiduciary leadership throughout this time of transition, and I look forward to welcoming Dinesh to Johns Hopkins Medicine International.

Sincerely,

Pamela D. Paulk
