Announcing the 2017 Winners of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Awards for Physicians and Care Teams

To the Johns Hopkins Medicine community

Dear Colleagues,

To recognize the physicians and care teams who provide consistently outstanding patient care, the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians launched an annual awards program called the Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Awards for Physicians and Care Teams in 2015.

Now in its third year, the clinical awards continue to be particularly meaningful at our institution, where we are committed to being a national leader in patient- and family-centered care. Open to providers who practice within Johns Hopkins Medicine, the program recognizes multiple aspects of clinical excellence through six award categories: Physician of the Year, Innovations in Clinical Care, Armstrong Award for Excellence in Quality and Safety, Excellence in Service and Professionalism, Clinical Collaboration and Teamwork, and Best Consulting Physician.

Response was strong again this year with more than 300 nominations. All Johns Hopkins Medicine hospitals and Johns Hopkins Community Physicians facilities selected their six winners after nomination and local committee review. This year's winners and nominees were honored at the Office of Johns Hopkins Physicians' annual meeting on Nov. 7. Learn more about the awards program and see short videos featuring each winner.

Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners of this year's awards. The recognition from your peers for demonstrating a steadfast commitment to our institution's mission is significant and well-deserved.

Most importantly, thank you for all that you do. We are so grateful for your consistent dedication to providing excellent patient care and your tremendous efforts in going above and beyond to make Johns Hopkins Medicine the extraordinary institution it is today. We thank everyone who took the time to recognize and nominate a physician or care team, or participated in the selection process.
