1-844-SPEAK2US: For Our Safety and Our Patients' Safety

null

To the Johns Hopkins Medicine community

Dear Colleagues,

At Johns Hopkins, we depend on each other. If you suspect that something at any Johns Hopkins Medicine location may be unsafe, unethical or illegal, we want to hear from you. We will listen.

You can call 1-844-SPEAK2US (1-844-773-2528) or go to JohnsHopkinsSpeak2Us.com, 24 hours a day, to share any concerns and help ensure that our patients and employees are safe and protected. You may also report safety concerns through Hopkins Event Reporting Online (HERO).

If you've spoken up in the past and felt that you weren't being heard, we want to change that. We need your help. It's our shared responsibility to report problems, especially problems related to patient safety. What you share is completely confidential and you can remain anonymous.

Watch a video about SPEAK2US.

Even if you're not sure SPEAK2US is the right place to share your concerns, don't hesitate to contact us.

Here are examples of reasons to make a report:

  • Patient and employee safety issues
  • Noncompliance with laws and regulations
  • Fraud, waste or other abuse
  • Workplace violence
  • Patient privacy and other rights
  • Faculty, student or staff misconduct
  • Policy violations
  • Billing compliance issues
  • Criminal behavior
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Any other ethical or legal concerns

Soon, you will see SPEAK2US signs wherever you work. You can also download your own SPEAK2US flyer to post in your work area or hand out at meetings.

Thank you for working together to improve the safety and quality of care at Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Sincerely,

Paul B. Rothman, M.D.
