Security POST 22 - The FRONT DOOR/WAITING ROOM POST
- The officer will maintain a visual presence in the AED front entrance, positioned at the registration desk side as visitors enter.
- This is a fixed post and the officer is not permitted to vacate the post without proper direction from a supervisor or without a proper relief.
- The post officer will greet all those that wish to enter the triage area.
- The officer will assure all staff are wearing their Employee ID badge.
- Every patient will be checked for a patient wristband and escorted by a staff member into the triage area; No patient will be allowed to back unescorted into the clinical area.
- The post officer will continue to maintain a visual of both waiting rooms to assure no one is in distress or being disruptive.
- The officer will render assistance when needed to ensure the triage area and surrounding halls are clear of visitors and provide assistance with crowd control when needed.
- When a patient and or family members ask questions, the officer will offer to find out if/when an ED staff member will be able to update them in the waiting room.
- Officers will conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. They will show courtesy and respect to all individuals they come in contact with, providing each of them with a high level of customer service.
Security POST 21- The INTERSECTION (South A - Trauma - North) POST
- This is a fixed post and the officer is not permitted to vacate the post without proper direction from a supervisor or without a proper relief.
- The officer will maintain a visual presence in the AED triage/RAP area.
- This post will be the secondary control of visitors entering the AED to visit a patient and assure that all visitors have been verified and they are visiting a registered patients.
- The officer will render assistance when needed to ensure the triage area and surrounding halls are clear of visitor and provide assistance with crowd control when needed.
