New High-Sensitivity Troponin Assay Launches at JHH on Tuesday, May 16

At 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, The Johns Hopkins Hospital is transitioning from our current "conventional" troponin I test to high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (HsTnI). The HsTnI tests detect troponin at much lower concentrations in the blood and with superior analytical precision. Using this more sensitive assay will allow clinicians to more quickly, efficiently and accurately diagnose myocardial injury. For more information, see the letter to clinicians, educational deck, and educational video.
