Services Available
 
Internal JHMI Mail
and Business Address Services
The mail center provides:

• Change of address cards for personal and business relocations
• Change of address form for internal staff/departmental moves

Certified Mail
Certified Mail provides the sender a mailing receipt verifying delivery. A "Certified Mail" label with an article number and a return receipt card is placed on the envelope. A record of the delivery is maintained at the recipient's Post Office for two years. Return receipt cards and article number labels are available at both mail centers. (Certified mail service is available for First Class Mail Only).

Express Mail
Express Mail provides overnight delivery of letters, documents, and other items. Express Mail envelopes and labels are available in the Mail Center. We process and send express documents to the Postal Service twice daily - at 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m.

Internal Mail Distribution
Johns Hopkins internal mail is delivered and collected by Distribution Transport Aides throughout the JHH, Weinberg building, and Outpatient Center. Collections are normally done once daily.

International Mail
An international mail vendor processes our foreign mail. The competitive pricing from this international carrier results in significant postage savings. They collect JHMI foreign mail daily from 2024 E. Monument Street.

In addition to the above services, we will be pleased to provide assistance with:

• Metering
• Folding, labeling, and inserting
  (please call in advance for arrangements)
• Scales for weighing
• Receiving and Distribution
• USPS Mail Collection
  (across from the Gift Shop located in the main Hospital)
• Priority Mail
• (2-3 days to most major cities)

Regular US Mail
We send outgoing mail to the USPS once per day between 3:00 and 3:30 p.m. Please help us meet these dispatch times so that we can provide you with prompt service. By letting us apply postage by meter, you can save both postage and eliminate affixing stamps manually. But, clients can still manually affix stamps and seal each envelope.
